A History of Giving

The purpose of the Wenatchee Valley Sports Foundation is to provide funding – by connecting public support and financial resources – to improve and expand sports and athletic opportunities for residents of the Wenatchee Valley.

The Wenatchee Valley Sports Foundation is led by a board of directors consisting of volunteers from throughout the community. As a 501 (c) (3), the Foundation is able to solicit donations and direct those funds to specific sports-related causes. One of the more popular is the Youth Scholarship Fund, helping local kids in need to afford participation fees for sports activities.

The Scholarship Program was made possible through donations to the Wenatchee Valley Sports Foundation and funding provided by the Neher Family to the Community Foundation of North Central Washington.

The City scholarship program provides financial assistance for children ages 3-14 to help them to participate in selected City of Wenatchee Parks, Recreation and Cultural Services Department programs. Scholarships may be used for:  Swimming lessons up to and including Y3 level, day camps and youth sports programs.  Funding in the scholarship programs is limited.

How to apply:
Applicants for scholarships for City recreation programs and swimming lessons need to provide proof of participation in a free or reduced school lunch program with their completed application. Application forms are available for download by clicking here.
