Wenatchee Valley

WELCOME TO THE WENATCHEE VALLEY, home of premium wines, world famous apples and outdoor adventures.  Located in the heart of Washington State, the Wenatchee Valley boasts 300 days of sunshine a year and is a delightful place to visit.  There are a wide variety of outdoor adventures as well as art, gourmet restaurants, theater and night life.

Wenatchee is listed in National Geographic’s Adventure magazine as one of 50 most desirable places to live and play1 and ranked 4th “Safest and Secure” small city in the nation to live, by Farmers Insurance.   Country Home Magazine, a sister publication to Better Homes and Gardens and Ladies Home Journal ranked us Fifth greenest city in America in which to live.

Blessed with four distinct seasons, you’ll be thrilled discovering adventures in spring, summer, fall, and winter. If you arrive in the winter you’ll understand why we refer to the Wenatchee Valley as a winter play land. For snow enthusiasts Mission Ridge Ski and Board Resort awaits just 12 miles away. And did we mention the breathtaking views from up top? You’ll love them!

Arrive until spring and you’ll be able to help us celebrate our Apple Blossom Festival held the last weekend in April through the first weekend in May.  With the relaxing pace of our valley, you’ll find plenty of time to visit our charming downtown. It features modern boutiques, eclectic shops, antiques, and trendy restaurants. While you’re out for a stroll explore the historic architecture of the downtown buildings or enjoy the outdoor Art on the Avenues sculptures. Be sure to drop in at one of the local wineries and take home some of the award-winning premium wines produced in Wenatchee Wine Country.

If summer’s your season…camp, hike, bike, kayak, or raft down the Wenatchee River. Take a cooling swim or water ski the Columbia River, which, by the way, runs right down the middle of our community. There are plenty of organized multi-sport events, that take place from March to September and we have to mention the allure of the 10-mile paved loop trail that runs along the western and eastern shores of the Columbia River. Bikers, roller bladders, walkers, joggers, and picnickers love it!

If you wait until fall to arrive, you’ll be glad because every September we celebrate the Taste of the Harvest.  It’s our time to rejoice at the bounty of tree fruits that are ripe and ready to savor. And we do want to brag a little about the fact that 60% of the apples sold in the U.S. are from Washington State. October brings the Wings and Wheels Festival honoring the first non-stop trans-pacific flight from Misawa, Japan to East Wenatchee, WA.  We know that you’ll create a lifetime of priceless memories while you are here. We‘re certain that you’ll want to visit over and over again, we simply ask

“How would you spend 300 days of sunshine?”™
