Baseball in Wenatchee Museum Exhibit

The Wenatchee Valley Museum is putting together a large temporary exhibit called “Baseball in Wenatchee” that will open on Friday, June 1. It will cover our community’s love of baseball from 1900 to today, with information on early town teams, fast-pitch softball, Wenatchee Chiefs, AppleSox, etc. The exhibit is expected to include photos from the museum’s collection along with old uniforms, equipment and memorabilia.

The exhibit will open with a big reception that’s part of Wenatchee First Fridays from 5 to 8 p.m. with refreshments and special guests (including some old-timers who once played for the Chiefs). It continues through Sept. 15. The opening reception is free but usual museum admission will be charged ($2-5) during our regular hours of Tues-Sat, 10-4.

Apple Blossom Run

The Apple Blossom Run starts prior to the Grand Parade on Saturday, May 5, at 9:40 am. Runners have a choice of four events: 1 Mile Kids Run for grades 1-8; 5K Run, 10K Run and 5K Walk. All events start at the Apple Bowl and follow the parade route down Orondo Street and Wenatchee Avenue. The 5K and 10K events cross the pedestrian bridge on First Street and continue north along the riverfront. The Kids Run finishes in front of the Convention Center on Wenatchee Ave. and the longer events finish at the Linden Tree area at the foot of 9th St. Race day registration starts at 8:00 am at the Apple Bowl.
